A Word On Priorities

I just want to share the way I make my priorities:

  1. Making sure my girlfriend doesn’t leave me. :-)
  2. Putting out fires in my mediocre IT day job. (j/k, it’s a great job, Its just that I worked 20 hours yesterday so I’m bushed!)
  3. Critical bugs in Regionerate – Bugs that prevent users from working with Regionerate such as bugs that corrupt the source code or completely hang the hosting application.
  4. Significant bugs – Bugs that could be quite annoying, but one can still enjoy Regionerate without them fixed such as members that are not moved to the right place.
  5. Annoyance bugs – Such as UI issues.
  6. New features – according to the survey which I will hopefully publish in a few days.

I guess you understand my need to keep my girlfriend, day job and solve bugs before adding new features :-)

One Response to “A Word On Priorities”

  1. Precisely the right order of priorities!

GhostDoc draws a lot of feedback and feature requests, so I know how you feel. Don’t let people pressure you, just make sure that you write down every feature request so no idea gets lost (no matter how silly it may sound at first).

Everybody should be aware that this is a hobby project. If a release is delayed because of other activities, so be it. Just make sure that you don’t promise features that never show up or make a commitment to certain dates (I had to learn that myself ;-) .
